2025-2026 Season
Dallas United Crew’s high school program offers a supportive and inspiring community where student-athletes build teamwork, accountability, and confidence — skills that drive success both on and off the water.

As the largest youth rowing program in Dallas, DUC serves over 100 high school athletes from 27 schools and proudly stands as the reigning state and regional champion. We’re also a proven pathway to college — with over 100 student-athletes recruited to top-tier universities with scholarships.

Most of our rowers discover the sport in high school — no prior experience needed. We welcome new athletes from all backgrounds and provide everything needed to learn, grow, and thrive in rowing.

PATHWAY
The DUC Pathway is a robust, intentional system developed by Dallas United Crew leadership and coaches to ensure every athlete is guided through the sport with purpose, progression, and long-term development in mind. Drawing from years of coaching experience and best practices from top rowing programs across the country, DUC leadership designed the Pathway to provide athletes with the structure, skills, and support needed at every stage—from middle school fundamentals to varsity racing and collegiate recruitment.
Through the Pathway, athletes are not just coached to compete; they are taught how to train, how to lead, and how to grow into resilient, accountable, and self-motivated student-athletes. Each level of the program builds intentionally on the last, ensuring technical development, physical conditioning, and character formation are aligned. Whether a rower is brand new to the sport or striving for a scholarship, the DUC Pathway ensures no athlete is left guessing about what it takes to reach their full potential.
High School Trials
Dallas United Crew’s 1-Week Trials give new athletes the chance to experience the sport of rowing firsthand. Over the course of one week, participants learn basic rowing technique, build fitness, and train alongside select championship high school team members. No experience is necessary — just bring a great attitude and a willingness to work hard as part of a crew.

WHAT MAKES A DUC STUDENT ATHLETE?
ELEVATING SCHOLAR-ATHLETES
ACADEMICS FIRST

At DUC, our rowers are encouraged to put the student and student-athlete. With years of experience training the fastest crews in USRowing's Central Region, our coaches recognize the connection between academic and rowing success. Through our program, we help our rowers develop time-management skills that allow them to balance academics and athletics and prepare them for future success.

ATHLETE RECOGNITION

Rowing, like school-sponsored (UIL) sports, builds character and life skills. Yet, offering rowing exceeds the resources of public schools. DUC's partners educators' teams with our coaches to establish standards and support rowers with in-school awards like varsity letters and scholar-athlete designations.

SERVICE HOURS

Some public school districts and private schools have established a minimum number of hours in community service as a graduation requirement. As a non-profit, DUC offers a variety of service opportunities, including community events at our boathouse and shoreline cleanup at our lake.

EARNING P.E. CREDITS

Texas Law and Off Campus Physical Education (for public school districts): Texas Education Code 28.025(b-10), and Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Chapter 74, Subchapter B authorize awarding physical education credit for student participation in appropriate private or commercially sponsored physical education programs.

House Bill 72 and Subsequent Legislation: Comprehensive References and Explanations (page 153) states that such off-campus education programs are essentially Olympic events where students spend significant amounts of time in training. The Commissioner of Education approves each school district’s off-campus physical education programs.

More Than a Sport: Rowing Builds Character
At Dallas United Crew, rowing is more than just competition — it’s a powerful experience that forges lifelong bonds, builds strong leaders, and shapes young athletes into the best version of themselves.

Brotherhood. Sisterhood. Team Above Self.
Rowing teaches what few sports can: no one moves the boat alone. Success only comes when eight individuals move in perfect sync — trusting each other, pushing together, and sacrificing for something bigger than themselves. In this shared pursuit, rowers develop a deep sense of brotherhood and sisterhood that lasts far beyond the finish line.
Time Management & Discipline
Balancing early-morning practices, afternoon workouts, and academic responsibilities requires real commitment. Rowers quickly learn how to manage their time, stay focused, and hold themselves accountable — habits that set them apart in the classroom, in college, and in life.
Leadership Through Action
In rowing, leadership isn’t just about giving commands — it’s about showing up early, staying late, supporting your teammates, and setting the tone by example. Whether you're pulling from the bow seat or calling the rhythm as a coxswain, rowing teaches athletes how to lead with humility and purpose.
A Proven Path to College
Dallas United Crew is proud to be a launchpad for student-athletes with college dreams. With over 90 DUC athletes recruited to collegiate programs — many with scholarships — rowing opens doors to some of the most competitive universities in the country.
Lessons for Life
In the boat, young athletes learn how to work hard, how to be selfless, how to win with humility, and how to lose with grace. They learn how to keep their heads down and grind — and how to lift each other up when it matters most.
Rowing at DUC doesn’t just build athletes. It builds people.
