Highschool Rowing

Spring 2024 Calendar

Dallas United offers rowing programs for teens 7th grade through 12th grade. Rowing is one of the best exercises for increased fitness, strength and cardio capacity. Teamwork, accountability, confidence and mental focus are all benefits of coming together as one in a boat on the water. Through the sport of rowing, DUC combats childhood obesity, promotes physical literacy, and teaches life skills through training, competition, and earned experiences. Dallas United gets teens moving on the water and in life. Dallas United Crew is the largest youth rowing program in North Texas. DUC's coaches are skilled in introducing athletes to the sport and preparing them to race elite crews at the highest level. First-season rowers enter the team as a "novice." A novice rower is an athlete in their first year of rowing competition. At DUC we designed a program that will teach athletes everything they need to know to learn the sport of rowing and transition the varsity squad your second year. 90% of our novice team has no previous rowing experience before coming to DUC. You bring the grit, we will give you the training. MULTI SPORT ATHLETES WELCOME!!!

Adult Rowing

WHAT IS "MASTERS" ROWING? A rower may compete as a "masters" rower starting a year or more after high school, typically ranging from 27 to 70 years old and may have any level of experience. Masters compete in age-based categories against others of the same class, or with handicaps. TRAINING & COMPETING: Programs are offered either 2 or 3 days per week. New rowers would start with Learn-to-Row. Intermediate Rowing, is for anyone who has completed a DUC Learn-to-Row or other team's training basic level program. Training & Racing Teams practice at the same time. Training Team athletes may have local race opportunities based on interest. Racing Team athletes are selecting, training, and boating for specific races. See program descriptions below for season dates and details. DUC Masters focus on sweep rowing in 8+s and 4+s, with an opportunity to row additional smaller boats on a case-by-case basis.
