High School Rowing 2 Week Trial

Two-Week Trial FOR PROSPECTIVE NEW ROWERS

Try it out before you register for the season

REGISTER HERE for our trial happening January 20-31, 2025

Two-week trials are available for high school rowers new to the sport!

  • Attend 10 practices

  • Learn the basics of the sport & college recruiting

  • Get fit

  • Gain leadership skills

  • Option to join the high school team at conclusion of trial

The 2-week trial is a mutual evaluation period where prospective competitive rowers in grades 9-12 have the opportunity to participate in regular practice for two weeks to see if rowing is a good fit.

Competitive rowing demands a high level of fitness and consistency- Dallas United Crew is a program that takes performance seriously, so joining the high school team requires a commitment to attend practice nearly every day and the determination to work hard toward technical and fitness goals. These goals will go hand in hand with our performances at regattas and on the national stage.

Coaches will assess rowers based on their enthusiasm and effort rather than focusing on technical ability or experience.  At the end of the trial, coaches will advise interested participants to either join the team or come back for summer programming and prepare for Fall 2025.

Full-season fees will be prorated from February 3rd to May 5th.  The trial period is mandatory for anyone new to the high school team, including those who rowed in middle school, participated in summer camp, or attended a learn-to-row session.

Our practices are split between our two facilities: The Boathouse and the Power Plant. After signing up for the trial, your head coach will give you more information about where practice will be.
