Dallas United Crew’s Junior Rowing Team competed last weekend at the Texas State Rowing and Paddling Championship in Austin, bringing home the gold medals in three races and placing third in overall points state-wide -- the highest of any North Texas Juniors rowing program.

Who says all of those hours on the ERG don’t pay off? And who says spending all that time on the water on cold, windy days or on hot 100 degree days isn’t worth it? If you ask Parish Episcopal High School senior Brooke Bode, she would have a different tale to tell. Three years of high school rowing have paid off big, as the 18-year old is planning a college career at the University of Texas as part of UT’s elite rowing team.

Dallas United Crew kicks off its Spring 2013 racing schedule on Saturday, February 2nd at the annual Southwest Ergometer Amateur Tournament, or "SWEAT" as it is painfully described by teenaged rowers in our area. An expected 500 athletes, from high school students, college athletes, and adults of all ages, will climb aboard stationary rowing machines, or "ergs", to race against the clock in a two-thousand meter competition.

Dallas United Crew wrapped up its fall racing schedule over the weekend at the nation's second largest regatta. The Head of the Chattahoochee, or, as it's more commonly known "The Head of the 'Hooch' " in Chattanooga, Tennessee hosts more than 5000 junior, collegiate and Masters rowers, plus their estimated 10,000 support staff and cheering squads.
